Baro is a selfish and greedy man who is willing to torture children and to betray allies for money. He's also shown to be quite cowardly, begging for mercy and offering no help to his younger brother even when he's injured or otherwise in trouble. Based on what little is seen flashbacks, it is suggested that at one time he was more compassionate, at least with regards to his brother Neige.
