""Iron Mask Duval""
Tanım
Duval is the leader of the Rosy Life Riders (originally the Flying Fish Riders), active around the Sabaody Archipelago and Fish-Man Island.
Kişilik
Little is known of Duval's personality before he set out to sea, though he seems to have been a proud member of his hometown's mafia, unrepentantly extorting money from others. In the present, Duval is an emotional man driven by outrage, anger, and vengeance. Driven into hiding and forced to hide his face to disguise himself from the Marines and bounty hunters who pursued him, Duval was scarred both physically and mentally by his experiences and weeps when he first explains his situation after his mask is knocked off. Duval is also not very intelligent or creative, as it apparently never occurred to him to try changing his hairstyle or facial hair to reduce his resemblance to the wanted poster, and he was shocked when Sanji suggested it during their confrontation. Duval's hatred for Sanji was so strong that any mention of the chef would drive him absolutely ballistic, causing him to rant about his hatred and planned revenge until he could be calmed. He would become so emotional at the matter that it created quite a scene, and while ranting he would even slip into his original "country folk" accent that he otherwise spoke without. This accent is so different than the one he uses when he talks calmly that everyone, even his men and the Macro Pirates, noticed it. Like his face, he has had this accent from birth, even when he was just crying and was unable to talk yet. Duval nursed this deep hatred of Sanji until the chef rearranged his face with a barrage of kicks during their confrontation. Upon regaining consciousness and seeing the results, Duval instantly loved the work. Not only did this new face look different enough that he would no longer be mistaken for Sanji, but it was also extremely handsome. Duval's entire outlook on life changed for the positive, and his past grudges were instantly washed away. Unfortunately for those around him, he also became extremely vain and narcissistic, such that he even began using "handsome" instead of his name. After taking on Sanji and the Straw Hat Pirates as friends, he now always does his best to assist them whenever they need help, such as by locating Camie after she was kidnapped and guarding the Thousand Sunny with great vigilance against anyone who attempted to steal it.
