Zoldeo was a member of the Grimoire Heart Guild and one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory through possession of Capricorn's body, being known as Caprico during this time. He died after being forcefully removed from his possession of Loke's body.

In the past, Zoldeo was shown very loyal to Layla Heartfilia, admiring her to a great extent and after her death he personally went after Grammi, who he believed was responsible for Layla's death. The death of Layla and guilt of murdering a friend presumably drove Zoldeo to the darker side of Magic where he became corrupted. While inside Capricorn's body, Zoldeo has a calm, serious demeanor and shows little emotion, just like several of his fellow guild members. However, he does not maintain his emotionless demeanor for long; when he realizes that Lucy Heartfilia is Layla Heartfilia's daughter, he enters a frothing rage. He looked forward to battling Fairy Tail Mages, whom he said should not be underestimated. Zoldeo’s admiration for Layla had also become twisted, as he had no issue attempting to kill her daughter Lucy. He even considered using his Magic to subjugate her to his will, noting with a sinister grin that she’s just as beautiful as Layla was.

Zoldeo was a member of the Grimoire Heart Guild and one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory through possession of Capricorn's body, being known as Caprico during this time. He died after being forcefully removed from his possession of Loke's body. In X764, Zoldeo gained Capricorn's key after Layla Heartfilia was forced to retire due to a physical breakdown. Her trust in him was apparently mutual as he was grief stricken after her death and even killed Grammi, who he believed was responsible for his master's death and wanted revenge on. Grammi accepted her fault but requested Zoldeo to not harm her daughter; Brandish which he seemed to have agreed to. He was expected to hand it over to Lucy, if she ever chose to pursue the path of Magic, which he initially obliged but he became twisted and corrupted, and was swallowed up by the darker side of Magic. At one point, he broke a taboo of the Celestial Spirits by using his Human Subordination Magic on Capricorn, and somehow ended up possessing Capricorn's body. It's because of this that Capricorn was able to stay in the human world for 17 years. At some point later in time, he was found by Hades and joined Grimoire Heart, becoming one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory.
